Bridget Marquardt Sporting a Steinhausen

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

My friend Richard Harlow over at BustedDaily.com sent me an email about some paparazzi pictures he snapped of former “Girls Next Door” star Bridget Marquardt a little while ago. He noticed something interesting about the pictures… Bridget was wearing one of the Steinhausen Ladies Ivory Circle Diamond Bracelet watches.

How Does the Dunn Horitzon Stack Up?

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

The Dunn Horitzon has been one of our best selling watches ever since we introduced this technical marvel a few years ago. How does the Dunn Horitzon stack up to other watches? Well, rather than comparing it to watches, we decided to compare it to quarters. Two quarters to be precise…

While we had the Dunn Horitzon out this morning in the studio, I decided to take some detail pictures of the face because the dial has this immaculate texture to it…

Steinhausen Tasche Collection Has Arrived

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Just a month ago I was talking about the eminent arrival of a new Steinhausen timepiece pulled from the archives of Ulrich Van-Heusen. It seems like this year has gone by so quickly, and the last 30 days are no exception. While the announcement of the new Tasche (German for pocket) Collection won’t receive the same fanfare as the new Motorola Droid, it is still a marvelous timepiece worthy of attention.

The first arrival is the Tasche Enrich, which is my personal favorite. There is just something about the remote second hand that is so unique. It really is an amazingly handsome piece of craftsmanship!

The Remote Sweeping Second hand make the Tasche Enrich a watch to attract attention from those who appreciate a fine pocket watch.

We stayed true to Ulrich’s original design as best as we could. We even included the butterfly case, which allows you to open the back after you’ve opened the front, revealing the gears and immaculate movement inside.

The Steinhausen Tasche Enrich has a butterfly case, reveling the details of he movement.

A limited number of each Tasche Collection watch are being made. The timepiece comes with a stainless steel chain that is sturdy and sure to last for generations.

My favorite part about this watch (besides the sweeping hand) is the ticking. Nothing in the world sounds quite the same as a mechanical pocket watch.

Of course, pocket watches are rarely seen on anyone who is not wearing a three piece suit. Steinhausen plans on changing that soon with a new accessory that Ulrich envisioned decades ago as he saw the business world moving towards a more casual work environment. This new accessory will be coming soon!

A Classic Pre-Dating the Original Steinhausen

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Every once in a while we all crack open the old attic to explore our old memories or discovery the memories of generations passed. When you hear the name Steinhausen, 1923 instantly comes to mind. We have long treasured the history and legend of our name. This has never been more important to our company since a distant relative of the Van-Heusen family brought the Steinhausen name back to the family!

I’ll have to admit that I was bit of a kid in a candy store when I first got to see some of the antique designs of the Van-Heusen family with my Steinhausen colleagues. The amount of detail that went into the Steinhausen Classic is astonishing, an immaculate masterpiece. However, nothing could prepare me for what we uncovered when we dusted off an old set of sketches we found nestled away in a family study. It was like stumbling upon one of the greatest treasures in timepiece history!

Based upon the information included with the sketches, these unbelievable designs predated the Steinhausen Classic wristwatch by at least 20 years, making them one of Ulrich Van-Heusen’s first designs as a watchmaker. We painstakingly duplicated every detail down to the exact material and mechanical specifications of the movement to bring you one of the most impressive Steinhausen timepieces in history.

A limited quantity of these timepieces will be available for the first time in November 2009 and are sure to be the desire of serious watch collectors. Of course, I’m going to tease you with a picture of just the box. I’ll leave it up to your imagination as to what is inside, but as is always the case with Steinhausen, you won’t be disappointed.

Leonardo Returning to the Steinhausen Vault

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Leonardo Skeleton Face The Swiss movement Leonardo Skeleton was brought back for an ultra-limited edition release in 2009. While we are pleased to have sold out the inventory in such a short period, we are saddened that this handsome watch is returning to the Steinhausen vault after having been one of the most praised watches of the year.

The first Leonardo went on sale more than 50 years ago and was one of the most sought after Steinhausen signature watches of the time. Reintroduced in 2004 with just 100 watches made, the Leonardo was a favorite among Steinhausen collectors and those new to the name. We decided to reintroduce this classic Skeleton timepiece after constant requests from customers for this special skeleton watch. Only 80 Leonardo Skeleton watches were available for sale starting in beginning of 2009 and now the watch is no longer available.

However, we have several new skeleton models on the way for 2009 and 2010. The most notable are the pocket watches we will be reintroducing after more than 60 years of hiding! We dusted off some immaculate designs and have replicated everything down to the original Swiss movement that is so incredibly accurate that you’ll be setting your other watches to these pocket watches.
